PHYSICAL
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the stimulation of points along channels (called
meridians) running throughout the body. These points can be treated
by inserting very fine needles, heating with herbs in a treatment
called moxibustion, by laser, massage, or applying small beads or
magnets. The traditional concept of balancing the vital energy or
chi may be translated as sending traffic up specific nerves into
the brain and spinal cord control centres to adjust various bodily
functions and internal biochemicals. Acupuncture can relieve pain,
promote relaxation, and rebalance the entire organism. It reminds
the various parts to reconnect and work together for the common
good, thus being vitally important in a disease such as cancer,
which is about loss of control.

Chelation Therapy
Chelation therapy is the removal of toxic minerals by binding to
an amino acid called
EDTAethylene diamine tetraacetic acid. EDTA is slowly administered
to a patient intravenously over a few hours, as prescribed by and
under the supervision of a licensed physician. The EDTA infusion
bonds with metals in the body and quickly carries them away in the
urine. Excess nutritional metals, such as iron, along with toxic
heavy metals such as lead, nickel, cadmium and aluminum are easily
removed by EDTA chelation therapy. Research has shown that chelation
therapy can act as a preventive against cancer and many chronic
diseases, as heavy metals poison self-repair mechanisms in our bodies.
Mercury may be removed by chelation with DMSAmeso-2,3-dimercaptosuccinic
acid which has sulphydryl groups to bind this very toxic heavy metal.
DMSA safely removes mercury from the brain.
Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy is a combination of the words "chemical" and "therapy"
and means the use of drugs to treat cancer. Chemotherapy may be
given by injection or taken orally. It is often used along with
radiation, hormonal treatment, or surgery.

Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine is a complete system of understanding
the causes and remedies of all illness based on internal balance
and harmony with the rhythms of nature. Practitioners commonly use
pulse and tongue assessment along with a medical history and other
examinations to determine the cause and type of imbalance. An experienced
TCM practitioner will always be able to discern a strategy to improve
balance and health, and will apply ancient clinical wisdom. Dietetics,
exercises such as tai chi (movement) and qi gong (breathing), massage,
acupuncture, and complex herbal formulations are prescribed.

Colon Hydrotherapy
Colon Hydrotherapy is used to cleanse the colon, thereby increasing
the possibility of attaining optimal health. It involves gently
filling the colon with warm filtered water though a speculum (a
small sterile tube). When the water is flushed out, it carries with
it any material that has built up in the intestines, including waste
material, toxins and trapped gases. These can interfere with digestion
and also with general well being, due to these toxins being released
into the bloodstream. A build up of toxins in the body can be a
contributing factor in the development of cancer.

Massage
Touch is soothing and comforting. Research indicates that massage
can reduce anxiety and depression and re-energize recipients. The
"laying on of hands" has long been accepted by many cultures
as a powerful means of healing. Massage therapy, aromatherapy, acupressure,
and reflexology are ancient therapies that can help improve health,
enhance the immune system, reduce pain, relieve stress, and promote
relaxation. Therapeutic massage is the scientific manipulation
of soft tissues of the body.
**** Massaging at the site of a tumour is contraindicated,
but people with cancer should not fear that massage in general is
contraindicated. In fact, studies have been done which support the
use of massage therapy in helping to ease many of the symptoms of
cancer.
Naturopathy
Naturopathic doctors are generalists in alternative medicine, primary
care providers of options to drugs and surgery. Naturopathic physicians
combine the traditional healing arts of homeopathy and hydrotherapy
with medical nutrition, botanical medicine, and physical therapies.
Naturopaths are eclectic integrators of holistic therapies for the
mind, body, and spirit. Modern laboratory tests and intravenous
therapies may be combined with ancient systems of diagnosis and
healing.
Fundamental principles:
- First, do no harm
- Vis medicatrix naturae use the healing power
of nature
- Find the cause treat the fundamental causes, not just
the symptoms
- Wholism treat the whole person with individualized care
- Doctor as teacher address lifestyle issues and practice
prevention

Counselling
The diagnosis of cancer can change your life. When confronted by
serious illness it is important to be able to talk about things
that are important to us, our lives, and those we are close to.
Thoughts and questions will naturally arise relating to the illness,
its treatment, the effects of both illness and treatment on everyday
life and relationships, the changes that will need to be absorbed,
and possible short- and long-term outcomes. Counselling
can help you adjust to the changes.

Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy can enhance quality of life through the control of
the pain and fatigue of the cancer itself, and the physical effects
of the associated treatments. Patients can be assisted through their
medical procedures and operations. Hypnotherapy can also make psychotherapy
more effective, to help individuals make the uniquely personal adjustments
they face. Self-hypnosis allows patients to actively contribute
to their treatment. Finally, hypnosis and self-hypnosis may be employed
to stimulate healing through spiritual means.
Visualization
Visualization techniques use the power of the mind to activate
the immune response against cancer.

SPIRITUAL
Meditation
Meditation is the practice of quiet contemplation and mindfulness.
It has been used in all religions, but can also be used as a secular
tool for increased self-awareness and healing through inner peace.
Reiki
Reiki connects us to Universal Life Energy. A session involves
gentle laying on of hands to a fully-clothed body, to remove blocks
at physical, mental, and spiritual levels. Deep relaxation helps
the immune system and gives peace and comfort to those under stress
from cancer and its medical treatment.

Rife Technology
Rife Technology (energetic medicine) derives its reference from
the pioneering research conducted by Royal Raymond Rife in Southern
California in the 1940's. This technology acknowledges that everything
in our universe is dependent upon specific frequencies and capitalizes
on sympathetic vibration/frequency. Much like an opera singer can
sing at a certain pitch and make a crystal tumbler shatter, Rife
Technology works on the principle of bombarding viruses, bacteria
etc. with their own frequency such that they basically explode.
Modern day equipment based on Rife's research utilizes a computer
driven audio and plasma light frequency generator to illuminate
an argon/neon light tube capable of complex wave forms with their
accompanying harmonics. 100+ programs are now available to combat
all manner of "dis-ease" in the body, including cancer,
and ongoing research into energetic medicine has witnessed encouraging
results.
Spiritual Counselling
Spiritual counselling is available to help you to better understand
the "big picture" perspective of how and why life unfolds as it
does.
As "souled beings" we are the creators of all our circumstances,
and our beliefs both conscious and unconscious determine
our experiences. We can recognize what we believe by noticing the
experiences in which we find ourselves.
Everything we see and feel is a reflection of the state of our
own consciousness. Every person we attract into our lives is showing
us something we can learn from. Every feeling expressed by another
mirrors a feeling deep within us. This reflection is a gift, for
it allows us to be aware of the beliefs we hold. We then have the
choice to reclaim the power we have vested in our beliefs.

Tai Chi
Tai chi is an Oriental system of exercise using very gentle, flowing
movements to stretch and tone the body, and at the same time create
a state of relaxation and poise.
Yoga
The "meaning" of yoga is "union" the bringing together of
the various polarities within, in order to reach a state of balance.
In Hatha yoga, attention is balanced between the body and the mind.
Yoga is not a religion, but is a human science that takes into consideration
bodily pains and disease. Yoga helps us to quiet the mind and redirect
it, and to centre ourselves. Regular practice can result in the
maintenance and restoration of health and well-being.
